Guild Incorporated provides psychiatric rehabilitation services that are essential to support recovery for those experiencing mental illness of a severe nature.  Through a variety of innovative programs and services, Guild Incorporated assists individuals to:
  • Have safe, affordable housing in which to live
  • Manage the symptoms of their illness
  • Coordinate their psychiatric services with other healthcare and maintain an effective medication program
  • Set personal goals and develop a plan to achieve them
  • Obtain and maintain suitable employment or achieve desired educational goals
  • Develop and enhance skills to meet the challenges of daily living
  • Connect with community resources
  • Prevent and cope with crises
  • Develop friendships and supportive relationships with others
  • Get involved in social and recreational activities

Services are provided in vivo - in the community where needed, rather than in an office. As an individual’s needs change, services increase or decrease. Flexible, strengths-based services help prevent the loss of housing and employment. Community alternatives to hospitalization are used whenever possible.

Mental illness affects every age group, social class and educational level. The State of Minnesota estimates that in 2000 there were 88,680 people in Minnesota with mental illness of a persistent and disabling nature – about 2.6% of the adult population. With support and effective rehabilitation, individuals can manage their illness so that they can pursue their life goals.
